Only peripherally Halo-related… but interesting nonetheless; Gamasutra has an artcle discussing Xbox Live – and a pretty amazing 60% attach rate for Xbox 360 owners. (That means 60% of all 360s are linked to an Xbox Live account – compare this to the Xbox attach rate of only 10%.) Halo plays a large role in what XBL offers; Halo 2 continues to be the most-played game on Live, Halo trailers account for absurd numbers of download bytes (speaking of which, the Halo 3: Behind the Scenes documentary is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace – 400 mb worth of 720p, Dolby 5.1-soaked goodness; go see it as it was meant to be seen), and Halo 2 Vista will be one of the first games (along with Shadowrun) to take advantage of Life Anywhere, a feature that let’s you access Life features simultaneously from your Xbox or your PC. (Again, just so we don’t start any rumors: Halo 2 Vista will NOT be able to interact directly with Halo 2 Xbox; the Live Anywhere functionality will involve your Friends List in this case.)(Louis Wu 11:56:40 UTC)

The Halouvre continues in its quest to collect and display the most artistic fan-created Halo media – they’ve opened a video section, the Halouvre Film Collection. Attractive, easy-to-use presentation, coupled with the rationale behind each vid’s inclusion, makes this collection a solid resource – check it out! Thanks, prometheus.(Louis Wu 11:49:33 UTC)

Should be in your hands… by September.
Oddness; has the Halo Graphic Novel been delayed, or is Amazon just a bit messed up? Random Year Old noticed that the HGN’s listing at Amazon has a release date of August 2 (not the original date of July 12, nor the recently-posted date of July 19) – and if you want yet ANOTHER date, Marvel’s own website suggests it’ll be in stores on July 26th. Hmm… anybody got a few bucks for a pool?(Louis Wu 11:36:53 UTC)

Who’s on First?
Over at MLGPro.com, there’s an analysis of the top seeds on the Pro (and semi-pro) Halo circuit, as they gear up for MLG Chicago in a week. Nice writeup, though I’d have liked to see at least a mention of the Intel Summer Championships played recently; several of the top teams competed there. (Yeah, I know, it’s not an MLG tournament, and doesn’t affect MLG standings of any of these teams.) Thanks, 3Suns.(Louis Wu 11:52:24 UTC)

Chief, Unsuited
Pinkuh posted an image showing what she thinks the MC might look like without his armor. It’s not done, but there’s enough there for some serious commentary. It’s been added to her Gallery page here (in the unfinished section).(Louis Wu 11:48:51 UTC)

Keen, satisfying, creepy, zany

The Pedestrian
Matt Barham sent along a link to ‘The Pedestrian’, a 20-minute-long vid that served as an english project; he and some classmates attempt to bring Ray Bradbury’s story ‘The Pedestrian’ to life. They crammed 14 hours of filming and editing into a single weekend, and the end result is both funny and entertaining. (Not all of it is actually relevant to the book – but then, what can you expect when you put a bunch of guys together in Halo 2?) Who said education can’t be fun? Swing by LiveDigital to watch the film (Flash format, about 90 mb).(Louis Wu 20:55:57 UTC)
