Pie: Chapter 1
Mike Rouse, of Machine-Enema, submitted ‘Pie, Chapter 1’ to the MPRRS yesterday. It passed, handily; it’s different from a lot of machinima out there. It has a powerful storyline, and a clever use of mods. The video has a distinctive (and intentional) look to it; it adds nicely to the atmosphere of the film. It’s rather large – almost 11 minutes, weighing in at a bit over 120 mb in either WMP9 or QuickTime formats – but absolutely worth the download. Grab a copy.(Louis Wu 14:30:14 UTC)

RT: Who Watches the Watchmen?
Today’s comic deals with something that has affected every single one of us in the office – Burnie’s placement on the TSA Watchlist. It sucks. Apparently just travelling with him makes you an accomplice to whatever fiendish and dastardly schemes he’s no…

Building something with an impact

For Some, Life After Bungie Bites
Dean Takahashi caught up with Hamilton Chu of Giant Bite to talk about life after Halo. Chu spent three and a half years working on Halo; before that, he was part of the Oni team.
Now, he and Bungie alum Michael Evans are cofounders of Giant Bite, which is working on a project but is mum so far on the details. What he would mention, though, is what he took from the work on Halo and how he wants ot to apply at Giant Bite:
“It’s hard to describe why players enjoy Halo,” he said. “All these things work together and the core mechanics just feel so good. The stuff we did with the controls. The art design made you feel the right way. It all works together.”
“All of us want to bring the great things we learned from past experiences,” he said. “We want to build the quality and the team and the culture. Building it ourselves is intriguing and rewarding for us. The experience of building Halo and the impact it had on players. That was fun and we want to build event-type products again. We want to build something that will have an impact.”

Stream the latest Podtacular show from your PC to your Xbox360
Have an Xbox360 and a PC? Want to listen to Podtacular on your 360? Here’s an easy new way to do it. What’s cool is it automatically updates the podcast too, so you always have the most recent show to listen to! Here’s an explanation of what it does from the xbstream web site:
XB Stream automatically downloads and converts text based content feeds into images that can be viewed from the media>pictures>computer blade and hear audio podcasts/blogcasts from the media>music>computer blade. Content feeds are automatically managed by the software so you are always given fresh feeds, and older feeds are automatically deleted. Audio feeds show up as playlists and can be listened to while playing your favorite games!
Of course you can’t listen to it while playing Halo, which sucks, but at least you can listen to it while playing a 360 game. (EDIT: Apparently you can! See the how in the comments) By the way, don’t download anything before version 1.1 of this software or it will fill up your hard drive. What do you guys think of xbstream?
