Salvation Mod Walkthrough
A few days ago, AbandonedCashew released a Halo 4 objective-based Infection mode called ‘Salvation’. Mr. Pokephile decided to make an 18 minute video detailing what the mode is and all the cool features that are now available for players to tinker around with. It seems that the possibilities are almost limitless in terms of cool gametypes that you can create. Thanks, wwm0nkey. This is really neat – go watch!(mastrbiggy 22:43:00 UTC)

ASE Ep. 120 Vidmaster Try Again
Marathon Infinity’s “Vidmaster Challenge” features remixes of three levels, the first of which is Try Again from the original Marathon. Each level includes grey, upgraded enemies.
A few notes about our playthrough:
We played Marathon and Marathon Infinity on Normal difficulty. We increased the difficulty on Marathon 2: Durandal to Major Damage to compensate for our somewhat higher familiarity with the levels of that game.
Try Again here is being played on Total Carnage; since the entire point of the Vidmaster Challenge is increased difficulty, there didn’t seem much point in not playing it on the highest difficulty.
However, it was clearly designed for solo play where any death means a restart. Usually we use irons’ Co-Op script so that we share weapons and don’t lose them upon death, but we couldn’t make it work here without going out of sync– so dying in lava means losing weapons forever, which quickly creates a shortage of both weapons and ammunition.
I’m also not sure if something else wasn’t glitchy, as the terminal indicates you have to “kill everything” but we were beamed out of the level with at least one or two juggernaughts still around.
That said, enjoy the bloodbath!

The Halo Bulletin: 8.6.14

Just before flying home from San Diego Comic-Con less than two weeks ago, I remember looking down at my mobile device and reading “Seattle –> Cologne: 10 Days Until Check-in,” which meant we had just over a week to put the finishing touches on our presence at the world’s largest gaming event: gamescom in Cologne (Köln), Germany. There were new builds to test, videos with never-before-seen (and in some cases, not-yet-recorded) footage to finish, and much more as we prepared to show you new experiences. We are nearly ready to give you your first hands-on experience with Halo 2: Anniversary, and we are nearly ready to show you new things that you haven’t yet seen.
With each late night, we get closer to showing you more of what’s to come. With each build of Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer, we come nearer to the version of the game that will be playable on the gamescom floor in just seven days. Next week, we’ll hand the controller to you for the first time, and you’ll hear from fellow Halo fans as they share their impressions of Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer with the world. But that’s not all – in the coming week, you’ll get a first look at brand-new upcoming experiences, have a chance to see the world’s first Halo: The Master Chief Collection eSports event, and more.
We’re incredibly excited to share all of this with you, and if you aren’t one of the 350,000+ gaming fans heading to Cologne, don’t worry – we’ll be bringing you the latest on Waypoint, Twitter, and Twitch.

Salvatori To Continue Composing For Bungie
Fans of previous Bungie franchises like Halo and Myth were surprised earlier this year by the termination of the employment of composer Martin O’Donnell as the studio’s Audio Department director, and the subsequent lawsuit he brought against the studio’s president, Harold Ryan, for unpaid vacation and penalties. That lawsuit was recently settled.
What remained unresolved was the musical future of Bungie’s newest franchise, Destiny, the soundtrack for which was the product of O’Donnell and longtime collaborator Michael Salvatori. The two worked together at Bungie on the soundtrack for five Halo games, and before joining Bungie also did the soundtrack for Bungie’s RTS series, Myth, as Total Audio.
No official statement came either from Bungie or from O’Donnell regarding Salvatori. Fans wondered whether he would remain at Bungie and continue working on Destiny, or would he also depart, perhaps to join O’Donnell on some new project.
Contacted through his official website, his representative Lisa Ramirez responded to our inquiry about Salvatori’s plans:

Halo Community Member Spotlight: Unyshek

Every other Monday, we feature an individual who is a positive and active member of the Halo community. This week, the spotlight turns to Unyshek!
Q: What’s your gamertag and its origin?
A: I had the gamertag LB Terminator for many years, but I began to feel like my opponents didn’t know who was beating them so I decided to make it more personal. For this reason, I changed my gamertag to Unyshek. It’s written how you pronounce my last name, Junyszek.
Q: Tell us about the first time you played Halo.
A: My first time playing Halo was when my friend brought his Xbox over to my house during a party. I still remember my first splitscreen match on Hang ‘Em High. I was captivated by the futuristic super soldiers who were sticking each other with blue plasma grenades. It only took that one match to get me hooked.
