H2A Terms to help with Halo 5
It’s been hinted at before, but it’s nice to have it explicitly stated: recently 343’s Dan Ayoub told Gamespot that the terminals that will be included in Halo 2 Anniversary will hint at story content from Halo 5. Great way to get new content into a game that will be presented in a historically accurate way!(Louis Wu 03:40:19 UTC)

Halo Waypoint to get a new look

Hello friends!
There’s a strong likelihood that many of you reading this update have called Waypoint home for many years, and it is with great pleasure that we share details with you about something new that is on the way. Our web team has been hard at work on a secret project that, until now, had not been discussed outside of the studio walls. This endeavor just happens to be a hefty website update, and the first major redesign for Halo Waypoint.
The update will bring a wide variety of improvements, new features, and a brand new look. We’ve improved search functionality, developed brand-new customizable user profile pages, an events calendar that will keep you updated with digital and live Halo events, and much more.
Additionally, the Halo 4 File Browser will now be located within the Halo 4 Stats App, and community-created polls will no longer be available in the forums. The ability to create polls in the current forums will end on October 10.
Lastly, we are developing brand-new Halo Universe content that we’re excited to share with you. This content will come online next month, shortly after launch. The new Waypoint will be launching within the next few weeks, and we’ll have a bit more to share as we get closer to this date.
Stay tuned for shiny things.
Bravo

It’s fall in Halo-land
This week’s Halo Bulletin contains some nice tidbits: there’s a Twitter giveaway, some great story background from (what used to be our own) GrimBrother One, a small FAQ focused on the copy of Halo CE that will appear in the Master Chief Collection next month, and some cool Autumn-themed screenshots. Go read! (As always, there’s a copy in our Halo Bulletin Archive. Ours even has large versions of the screenshots.) On our forum, Grizzlei had some comments about this week’s content – join the conversation!(Louis Wu 22:56:45 UTC)

You Know Who We Are
This week, Season 12 of Rooster Teeth’s long-running series, Red vs Blue, came to a close; Episode 19 wrapped up the loose ends left by last week’s cliffhanger, and then unraveled one or two new ones. Great stuff! Go watch.(Louis Wu 22:50:53 UTC)

ASE Ep. 134 Marathon EVIL 13: Code 42 Part 2 of 2
We’ve finished with the canonical Marathon Trilogy and are moving on to third party scenarios, starting with EVIL. In this scenario, a UESC ship from Tau Ceti runs into a spatial anomaly that sends them far away where we encounter something dark and evil.
The mysterious Felix has an ingenious, inscrutable plan to mess with the Mystics by ruining their planet’s magnetic field.
EVIL can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
EVIL and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:

We use irons’ Co-Op script, which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

The Halo Bulletin: 10.2.14

It is now October, which means that we can officially say that Halo: The Master Chief Collection launches next month.
Within the studio walls, various teams around the studio are putting the finishing touches on all of the experiences that await you this fall. In one corner, the Halo Channel team can be found building an all new entertainment platform, and I can be found peeking in between desks in an attempt to get a sneak peek at Halo: Nightfall. In another corner, the Halo 5: Guardians team is finishing up various features that we’ll be talking about in the near future. And at my desk, endless amount of Halo: The Master Chief Collection “tests” are underway, in which I play an endless amount of multiplayer matches from each game. Conversations about featured playlists, tournaments, community events, and more fill the halls and conference rooms.
At the rare times when I manage to put my controller down and come up for air, I have the privilege of seeing all of these moving pieces in action, and I’m instantly excited about the games, programming, and experiences that await each of us over the course of the next few months and beyond. This anticipation generally leads to ponderings about what each of you are most excited about this fall, and it just so happens that we want to hear from you.

Let’s Play Destiny Co-Op #10: Shrine of Oryx
In this story mission of Destiny, Blackstar and Narcogen are tasked with destroying the Shrine of Oryx and its guardian, Sardok.
Blackstar and Narcogen are picking up with playing Destiny in co-op mode with the first moon mission: The Dark Beyond. (The Cosmodrome story missions and strike seem largely unchanged from the beta test, at least at their lower difficulty levels).
