ASE Ep. 145 Marathon EVIL 32: View From The Edge (Secret Level)
We’ve finished with the canonical Marathon Trilogy and are moving on to third party scenarios, starting with EVIL. In this scenario, a UESC ship from Tau Ceti runs into a spatial anomaly that sends them far away where we encounter something dark and evil.
Okay, so it turns out THIS is the final level. It’s actually a secret level, although I have no idea where the entrance is. Anyway, here it is. Our mission? Kill everything, including a fat guy with a strangling fetish. Yes, really.
EVIL can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
EVIL and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:

We use irons’ Co-Op script, which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Aim Down Sights – in Halo 4
Looks like there was some code in Halo 4 that would have allowed an Aim-Down-Sights-like experience… interesting! (Obviously unfinished; the weapons are actually in the way of seeing what you’re shooting at. But interesting.) Thanks, Lord Zedd (and gamerguy2002, who told us about it).(Louis Wu 23:18:28 UTC)

H2:A Scenes Compared to Originals
Ben Ritter put all the Halo 2: Anniversary cutscenes side-by-side with the original Halo 2 ones – he cautions that the quality is limited (he’s converted downloaded videos to make his comparisons), but that his comparisons are most useful for folks interested in filmmaking, looking to see what Blur decided to focus on when they updated these scenes.(Louis Wu 23:00:03 UTC)
