Aim Down Sights – in Halo 4
Looks like there was some code in Halo 4 that would have allowed an Aim-Down-Sights-like experience… interesting! (Obviously unfinished; the weapons are actually in the way of seeing what you’re shooting at. But interesting.) Thanks, Lord Zedd (and gamerguy2002, who told us about it).(Louis Wu 23:18:28 UTC)

H2:A Scenes Compared to Originals
Ben Ritter put all the Halo 2: Anniversary cutscenes side-by-side with the original Halo 2 ones – he cautions that the quality is limited (he’s converted downloaded videos to make his comparisons), but that his comparisons are most useful for folks interested in filmmaking, looking to see what Blur decided to focus on when they updated these scenes.(Louis Wu 23:00:03 UTC)

ASE Ep. 144 Marathon EVIL 22: Life’s End Part 2
We’ve finished with the canonical Marathon Trilogy and are moving on to third party scenarios, starting with EVIL. In this scenario, a UESC ship from Tau Ceti runs into a spatial anomaly that sends them far away where we encounter something dark and evil.
We’ve finally arrived at the final level of EVIL!
EVIL can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
EVIL and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:

We use irons’ Co-Op script, which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Podtacular 452: The Master Bug Collection

The Master Chief Collection has had a very problematic launch with many bugs and issues affecting almost every part of the game and it seems to be different for every person. Achievements aren’t unlocking for campaign, lobbies are crashing post game for customs and campaign, matchmaking rarely works, and people are rightfully frustrated. However, the silver lining on the story is 343 Industries is actively trying to fix the issues plaguing the game so Halo fans can get their game on and enjoy everything the Master Chief Collection has to offer. Despite the launch problems, this past weekend had a lot going on from the Launch Invitational tournament and the release party in Hollywood, which we were privileged enough to be a part of. Taking the walk down memory lane with us this episode is Alfredo Diaz from IGN and VoRLiN also sharing our Halo 5: Guardians experience.

While the floor explodes…
Another what-if sort of video from Gamecheat13 – have you ever wondered what the Trench Run at the end of Halo 3 would be like… from a first-person view? Wonder no longer. (It looks terrifying, that’s what it looks like. And pretty hard.) Thanks, gamerguy2002.(Louis Wu 16:11:57 UTC)

The Egg Hunt Begins
We’ve already gotten word about a couple of new easter eggs in the Master Chief Collection – one, from Road Trippin’, shows off a secret that earns you an Achievement, found in Halo 2 Anniversary, while the other, from Walterrific, possibly gives away the musical tastes of a member of 343’s art team. Take a look!(Louis Wu 18:59:44 UTC)
