[Company] Rulez!
Zarathustra Studios and Krad Productions collaborated to create ‘[Company] Rulez!’, a humorous look at the Game Content Usage Rules published by Microsoft last month. Before they could release it, though, Microsoft made it clear that they were planning on revising the rules, and that things weren’t as gloomy as they first appeared. The movie’s still pretty funny, though, and can be seen in about 600 different formats (well, maybe not QUITE that many) linked off this page. Go read – it’s also got a nice collection of links to other articles about these rules. Thanks, Evan Ryan.(Louis Wu 19:30:40 UTC)

Pimp Your 360
Hawty McBloggy found a replacement case for your Xbox 360 that brings to mind the original Xbox Special Edition case – and in her case, it’s more visually appealing than the OFFICIAL Xbox 360 Special Edition. Check it out to see if you agree – it’s currently under $45, so if you’d rather go back to the crystal green look, it’s WAY cheaper than a new Special Edition.(Louis Wu 18:52:24 UTC)

Carbine vs BR – another look
Gravemind wrote up a wordy rant about the accuracy of the Carbine as seen in the Halo 3 Beta. (The tone of the piece is “what a shame they didn’t fix this” – though how he can know whether they did or not without playing with the final version is beyond me.) Interesting analysis, whether you agree with his findings or not.(Louis Wu 17:00:27 UTC)

What can be learned from Halo
We got word from Phil, at Sodaware, that he’d written an article about the gaming design lessons that can be learned from the original Halo. After reading it, I wonder how he’d interpret the changes made between Halo and Halo 2… but even on its own, it’s a fine read. (Louis Wu 14:32:27 UTC)

Halo 3 Delivers For Fans, Non-Fans Alike
—
by
TrackZero at Evil Avatar got to see a closed-door demonstration of two campaign levels from Halo 3. His verdict? It’s a keeper if you like Halo, at least a rental if you don’t.
It takes all the best of the series and kicks it up a notch. I never encountered any issues during gameplay at all to speak of. The single player campaign missions that I saw merely came off as a tease, as I wanted to grab the controller and play the whole time. The multiplayer is a large improvement over Halo 2 (which I wasn’t a fan of) and hits a great balance that’s sure to please people.
Read the full post for more details about Halo 3, as well as impressions of several other games.
