Let’s Play Destiny Co-Op #49: Vault of Glass, Hard Mode
ChrisTheeCrappy takes over sherpa duties and shepherds us through the Vault of Glass, this time on Hard mode, where revives are disabled in death zones.
This video strings together ONLY the successful runs at each stage of the vault, unlike the earlier raid videos. Unlike the first Vault video, we didn’t cheese the Templar by pushing him off the platform (because you can’t anymore) but we did sort of cheese the Templar by wiping and respawning on the upper platforms so we could kill him from a safe distance with snipers and rockets.

Podtacular 465: Halo 5 Beta Breakdown: Spectator Mode

Our latest show comes from the depths of Pax East that took place this past weekend including the grand finals of HCS Season One. To no mere coincidence, this week we talk about one of thenew, highly demanded features in Halo: Spectator mode. While what we experienced is likely to change over the rest of the game’s development, it showed a glimpse of what we could have in the future and what that means to streamers, broadcasters and commentators. The guests on this show are very fitting given the topic as they are as close as it gets to having Spectator mode being the most valued. Our first group comes from our friends over at GrifballHub, Goosechecka and Receptor17. You can see them streaming games with their own improvised Spectator mode used for streaming live Grifball matches on Twitch every Wednesday and Thursday. Our final guest many know as one of the golden eSports casters for gaming, none other than Goldenboy, who casts many HCS tournaments including the grand finals of season one. There are some striking similarities between the two groups yet some distinct feature requests that would be great additions to Halo 5: Guardians.

ASE Ep. 146 Marathon Tempus Irae 00: Ain’t My Bitch
We’re starting a new Marathon adventure– this time fighting the Pfhor in Italy of the past in third party scenario Tempus Irae!
Tempus Irae can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
Tempus Irae and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:
http://source.bungie.org/scenarios.php#more
We use irons’ Co-Op script, which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Tempus Irae has its own spoiler guide:

Remaking the Art of Halo 2 for Xbox One – GDC 2015
Certain Affinity’s Michael Pavlolich gave a GDC talk that detailed the pipeline and tools that allow artists to quickly take concepts and ideas to a functioning in-game model. A good portion of his presentation is focused on recreating Halo 2’s art for the Anniversary edition of the game. It’s a really interesting talk, even for non-artist types. Thanks, SEspider.(mastrbiggy 18:58:11 UTC)
