Suicidal Elites
Rockslider posted a new video – the one shows how you can bait Elites into running off the edge of the map at the beginning of AoTC. This is pretty funny!(mastrbiggy 23:06:07 UTC)

Dumb Ways to Die (in Video Games)
This is quite old, but Mehasteakman created a song that pokes fun at all the silly and dumb ways to die in video games. It’s only fitting that Halo’s multiplayer make an appearance in the music video. Thanks, SEspider.(mastrbiggy 23:00:51 UTC)

Halo 4 – Unused Aim Sway
Lord Zedd dug deeper into Halo 4’s code and found more hidden secrets. This video shows aim swaying when scoped. According to Lord Zedd, the degree of ‘swayness’ changes depending on zoom level and that the sway can be scaled with moving and crouching – interesting! Thanks, gamerguy2002.(mastrbiggy 22:59:45 UTC)

ASE Ep. 149 Marathon Tempus Irae 07-08: Wiping Off The Dirt and Glue / Repository Four
Tempus Irae seriously starts to troll us with locked doors. At least we have the Sistene Chapel to look at.
We’re starting a new Marathon adventure– this time fighting the Pfhor in Italy of the past in third party scenario Tempus Irae!
Tempus Irae can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
Tempus Irae and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:
http://source.bungie.org/scenarios.php#more
We use irons’ Co-Op script, which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Tempus Irae has its own spoiler guide:

Podtacular 470: Xbox Fire Hazard

A lull in the news can only mean one thing: tangent city, or at least a few strung together cohesive conversations still on the subject of Halo. With a few things to dabble in the Hunt the Truth ARG, we’re left with room to talk about Chief’s future in the Halo franchise and sort through our listener emails.

Halo 4 – Vault/Clamber
Lord Zedd discovered a vault/clamber mechanic buried in the Halo 4 code. There are no fancy animations, but it’s neat to see that this mechanic was considered prior to Halo 5. Thanks, gamerguy2002.(mastrbiggy 23:26:49 UTC)

Podtacular 469: Two Sides to the Same Story

Last week, we dove into the beginning of Hunt the Truth, a journey into the life of the infamous Master Chief from the investigative reports of Benjamin Giraud, a ONI war photographer and journalist, but that wasn’t the only thing. If you caught the season finale of The Walking Dead, you would have seen two videos of Master Chief and Agent Locke staring at each other in the face of death. Do we hail the traitorous hero, or question the cost of Chief’s efforts to save humanity? We focus on this with an open mic call having the community participate in our conversation and give their thoughts and question on the two videos and what they mean. Join us and our fellow Podtacularians as we hunt for the truth.

Four Score and 7 Years Ago…
Okay, so maybe it hasn’t been a few decades, but it sure seems like it. It’s just been a few months. Back in October, we hosted the 10th Annual 343 Guilt O’ Lantern contest – and it’s taken until today to get the prizes packaged up and mailed to the winners. Swing by the Prizes page to see photos of the goodies. And please – winners and waiters alike, please pardon our extreme lateness. It won’t happen again.(Louis Wu 23:30:46 UTC)

Master Chief, a Lightsaber, the Empire, and Starfleet
A group of indie filmmakers are raising money for a fairly strange movie premise titled, Galactic Battles. The idea is to merge the universes of Star Wars, Mass Effect, Star Trek, and Halo into a single universe. You can check out their indiegogo page here.(mastrbiggy 20:14:07 UTC)
