Small is Beautiful.
Over at Hawty McBloggy’s place, you’ll find a cool story about The Teeniest Tiniest Halo 3 Legendary Edition Ever. Apparently, a woman decided to recreate the Halo 3 Legendary Edition… in miniature. (The box is 5.5 cm on its longest side. That’s just a hair over 2 inches, for all you non-scientific Americans. I mean… that’s the size of your thumb, from knuckle to knuckle!) For all that tinyness, it’s gorgeous, and astoundingly detailed. Go look. (And be sure to check out the rest of 2twoproductions’ gallery, at DeviantART – there’s lots of cool stuff in there.)(Louis Wu 11:24:03 UTC)

Season News – Week 2
—
by
Locked and loaded! The Podtacular season is under way.
The first week is over and this is the season update to let you know what went down and what you should expect for the following week.
Well, we didn’t have many surprises in the first week other than Dangle Snipers shutting down Mini Boss by 2-0 to set a nice and strong start for week one. If you have been following the Season Predictions topic you know that MB is one of the favorites among some of the members of the community. Well they will have to work hard for a good second week in order to keep their hopes up for this season. As many of you know only 2 teams from each group will advance to the second round.
The other nail bitter came from Team Supremacy vs Team H2SO4 taking a full series of 3 games to decide who would take the 3 points home. You can check the third game of the series in this week’s featured match to the right of the screen. Just click on the video to check out how it all went down!
So if you want to check out how the groups look like, just click on the group’s link above this page!
Well now some reminders and more information to make week 2 even more enjoyable.
I’d like to please ask all of you who are submitting your matches to use the following format on the subject line.
Team 1 (win) vs Team 2
It just makes my life easier to know who the winner is and who the matches were played against.
Well for the host. Please be sure to run a quick host check slayer match. About 30 seconds to make sure that the host is reliable, in order to avoid problems down the line.
**** Also keep in mind that we are in the groups round, where you are only required to play a best of 3 matches. Meaning that if a team wins 2 in a row, there’s no need for the third match to be played. If you choose to play the last match, PLEASE do not submit it to me. I don’t need to see it. I just need the matches that are important for the point count.
And for the part you were all waiting for… Here are the matches that will be played this week.
NOTE: This week we will be using the winning map of the podtacular map contest. MLG REVERT. If you don’t have the map please be sure to download it HERE – SLOT 6
The format for this week will be: Objective – Slayer – Objective
- CTF on MLG Revert (Please use GB CTF Narrows for this gametype)
- MLG Slayer on Narrows
- MLG Ball on Guardian
Thanks everyone for playing your matches. And let’s see an even better week 2!
Good luck everyone.

That’s totally not how Bungie envisioned her. Really.
Over in his RvB journal, Luke McKay posted an interesting interpretation of Cortana yesterday – we’ve added it to his gallery here at HBO. Looks like Big Goalie Dan was first with the news.(Louis Wu 15:06:09 UTC)

Personalized Halo 3 Profile Images (a little late)
Yesterday, Hawty McBloggy posted a piece about personalized Halo 3 profile images, created by Bootsman. I read it, said to myself, “yeah, we’ve already covered that”, and moved on. (I remembered reading an email from Bootsman, pointing to a post at Fyreball offering this service, and I remembered writing a short newspost about it.) Later in the day, Hawty sent an email, saying “I know you’ve probably covered this, but I searched and couldn’t find it, so I’m letting you know.” I searched myself, so that i could suggest to her how to more effectively search next time… and I realized that the post didn’t exist. (I blame Ferrex.) So: if you’re interested in personalized Halo 3 profile images, and the description about how they’re made (in Hawty’s blog post) makes you think “that’s just too much work” – swing by either info post for contact info, and let Bootsman do the work for you! Update: Bootsman asks that if you want to add your name to the queue, that you visit his Bungie.net thread, rather than the Fyreball one – he’s trying to keep everything in one place.(Louis Wu 13:42:58 UTC)

Happy Birthday, HIH!
We missed it when it came by on Friday – but then, so did they. High Impact Halo has just celebrated its fourth birthday – man, how time flies! Go give ’em a hug.(Louis Wu 13:05:07 UTC)

Panoramania
The latest panorama craze apparently kicked off a month ago when Crab sent us a batch of images he’d been working on. This inspired a number of other fans to create their own images, or release them. (Halo panoramas are nothing new – but sometimes, you’re exhorted to action when you see something that grabs you; this seems to have happened to a bunch of artists recently.) Last week, Crab sent us three new images to add to his collection; the email managed to get buried until today. Go look, though, because they’re great shots from the end of Sierra 117. In our forum, radiant penguin added his own site to the panorama cornucopia; he started working on these when Tied the Leader opened Haloramics back in February. radiant penguins’ shots are different from many that we’ve seen here recently, in that he’s actually tweaked contrast and saturation, yielding images that are bolder than your average screenshot. Feedback on the forum is quite positive – so be sure to browse the Panoramas section of Halo Prints!(Louis Wu 12:20:45 UTC)
