Let’s Play Destiny Co-op #50: Queen’s Wrath Bounties Part 1
Destiny’s 1.2 patch is live with lots of changes, large and small, including some preliminary Queen’s Wrath bounties to get us ready for the full launch of the House of Wolves expansion this week. We take on the first few of these.
Some notes– this video, unlike almost all the previous ones, was assembled from downloaded recordings of the Xbox One’s Twitch broadcast feature; as a result, there are some audio issues and generally lower video quality. We are either going to find workarounds for these or return to the usual recording method in future House of Wolves episodes.

Podtacular 482: Truth Uncovered

Ben continues is search for the truth after the bombshell of a revelation that Deon Govendor was in fact dead for more than seven years. However, he hasn’t heard from Mashak or FERO in three days, leaving him to wonder if something happened to him. Ray eventually comes around with some info that reveals Jacob Walker as a professional voice actor, discrediting John’s origin of boot camp at the age of six. Ben follows up with Anthony Petrovsky, one of the ODSTs ordered to fight John and was severely injured. Eventually, the burning question of what the Spartan program was had to be asked and the details were gruesome, particularly the clones part for Ben. At then end of the episode, FERO makes her appearance hacking into Ben’s network providing direction for Ben to take his story in, far past anything he could have imagined.

Halo 2 Anniversary Random Weapon Box
MartianMallCopStudios created a fully functioning random weapons box with the Halo 2A Forge scripting tools. The weapon box is similar to system found in Call of Duty’s Zombie mode, but this version has a Halo twist. Thanks, Bounce-A-Gon.(colindosaj 00:08:51 UTC)

ASE Ep. 155 Marathon Tempus Irae 15: The Gauntlet
We’re starting a new Marathon adventure– this time fighting the Pfhor in Italy of the past in third party scenario Tempus Irae!
We run through a watery gauntlet surrounded by Hunters and Enforcers to chase down Da Vinci’s stolen manuscript.
Tempus Irae can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
Tempus Irae and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:
http://source.bungie.org/scenarios.php#more
We use irons’ Co-Op script, which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Tempus Irae has its own spoiler guide:

Podtacular 481: Signal Hunters

Following the April Content Update, we were grace with a detailed community update from Bravo detailing some of the changes that came with the patch, how quitting and betrayals are treated, how reputation plays into matchmaking, and updates regarding MCC playlists. The Hunt the Signal contest has officially started in conjunction with Hunt the Truth requiring fans to solve puzzles for a chance to get their faces featured in Halo 5: Guardians. In a video recorded during EGL’s Battle of Europe during HCS Season One, Frank O’Conner, Franchise Director for Halo discusses the difference in development for MCC and Halo 5: Guardians. Lastly, the largest fan-made Halo diorama was reported on by Polygon and looks friggin’ sweet.

RvB S13 Continues
We neglected to mention the most recent Red vs Blue Season 13 episode last week (Episode 5, “No Fighting in the War Room”) – so now you get to hear about TWO new episodes (because Episode 6, “Along Came a Spider”, came out yesterday for the general public). Go get caught up – this story is getting meaty! (Louis Wu 14:03:29 UTC)

Who’s Listening

Halo: Halos in Space – the Garry’s Mod Version
Back in 2007, a piece of Halo fan fiction was released into the wild, and immediately turned into machinima fodder (sadly, the SnowGlobePro version is lost to time), not once but twice. (That version is still online – because we’re hosting a copy.) AfroRyan stopped in to point out that there’s now a Garry’s Mod version of the tale. I was impressed. Go watch!(Louis Wu 18:14:52 UTC)

I think I’m gonna need a bigger gun.
MELEE was playing through Truth and Reconciliation on the MCC version of Halo Anniversary, and encountered a pretty odd (but sort of awesome) glitch – check out the army he’s facing! If anyone figures out how to reproduce this, there are a lot of people who’d love to try it.(Louis Wu 18:05:09 UTC)

Banshee attack montage
Rockslider released a revisiting of his Banshee antics in the cavern megabattle on AotCR – six and a half minutes of carnage. Check it out!(Louis Wu 18:03:05 UTC)

Ascension – CEM3
RVideo sent word of a pretty nice Halo CE montage released last week – Mint Blitz calls it ‘Ascension – CEM3’, and it nicely marries impressive Halo play with mellow ambient music. Go watch!(Louis Wu 18:01:12 UTC)

Podtacular 480: Pharaoh

Ben has stepped through door number two, slipping the deadline instigating dozens of calls from ONI. He’s begun releasing his version of the Master Chief story and has drawn out many reactions of condemnation and praise. With all the new information at his disposal, he begins piecing together the facts and undermining the ONI coverup. His colleagues, Petra Janecek and Ray Curzig aren’t pleased when they hear themselves tied to Ben’s story in his podcasts and are shocked when the one person who was completely discredited from the voicemails, the one who was so passionate about his story with John that it convinced Ben, Deon Govendor died 7 years ago. Add that to Mashak’s intervention and hacks into ONI systems and this leads to quite a gaping hole in John’s origin story. Things are just on the rise when a mysterious person enters the scene by the name of Pharaoh.
