Now they just need to build the platform.
We’ve all seen cool panoramic shots of Blackout and its environs, like this one… but have you ever seen the area in full sun? (Check the second pic down.) Nice find by Jeff Hartt.(Louis Wu 14:23:07 UTC)

Frankie – with Hair
Bungie posted their Weekly Update last night, as usual – there’s teaser artwork from Bungie artists who will be at the Emerald City Comic-Con today, in Seattle, new Bungie Favorites from a community group (and an interview with their leader), a goodbye to a Bungie employee who’s moved on, and some funny pics of Frankie (with an exhortation to photoshop them for Recon). Go see! (You can, of course, read it in our Weekly Update Archive.)(Louis Wu 13:56:15 UTC)

Story of the Forerunners: The Ascendant Justice Blog
—
by

Through Xbox 360 Fanboy and the Bungie weekly update I recently found the above linked blog, Ascendant Justice. The author has painstakingly and thoughtfully compiled the story of the Forerunners from all the information gleaned from the Halo 3 terminals as well as tidbits from other Halo campaigns and lore. The story is not only a great addition to the Halo universe, but is extremely well-written. The author is careful to not turn speculation into fact and notes every part of the story that remains canonically uncertain. If you are a fan of Halo fiction, you need to read this blog.

So I don’t know if any of you have seen this journal by Burnie, but the subject of the “ground pound” gets brought up at least twice a day in our office now. It’s wearing a bit thin. Hopefully something equally annoying will catch Burnie’s attention…

RotaJota reports that there’s an interview with Bungie’s Mike Zak in the May 2008 issue of Game Developer Magazine. It’s possible that this will show up on Gamasutra at some point, but for now, if you want to read it, you’ll need to find the dead tree edition. RJ says it’s a great read.(Louis Wu 18:29:59 UTC)

Believe takes Best of Show at One Show
Another advertising award for the Halo: Believe campaign – The 2008 One Show offered ‘Best of Show’ to the campaign, saying that it“catapulted Halo 3 from an ordinary video game into a worldwide cultural phenomenon due to its ability to build an emotional rapport with the audience. The innovative stream of interactive TV, Web and cinema advertisements was an inspired approach that successfully attracted an audience beyond the typical gamer.”
The official site doesn’t have winners listed yet (the festival doesn’t end until tomorrow), but Exchange4Media has reported the results.(Louis Wu 17:19:06 UTC)
