Happy Bungie Day. Free Halo 3 map. Legendary Map Pack 600 points.
Today is 7/7. In honor of Bungie Day a free Halo 3 map is being released. It’s a remake of Chill Out from Halo 1. Also today, the Legendary Map Park has been reduced to 600 points.
Look for an announcement about a Halo 3 XBL meetup taking place one night soon.

Happy Bungie Day!
It’s July 7, Bungie Day – and Cold Storage is available for download right now. (One potential gotcha – it’s only available for Gold accounts at the moment. If you’ve got a Silver account, you either need to upgrade, or “check again in a few days” (according to the Marketplace blurb). I don’t know what “a few days” translates to. I guess this is really only a problem for folks planning to use extra Xboxes in a LAN party today…) The map really is gorgeous, and (mostly) true to its predecessor. (The small place to hide with the ball, under the walkway in the back room, is gone… but everything else I can remember is there.) Go grab a copy – the new Bungie Day playlist is up as well, so you can get in some FFA action on this puppy right away! Go to the Xbox Live Marketplace blade, select ‘New Arrivals’, then ‘Games’, then ‘Halo 3’. The Bungie Day Gamerpics, free Theme, and the ViDoc in HD are there, as well.(Louis Wu 13:50:20 UTC)

Call of Duty 4 Arabic Mixup
I was playing COD4 tonight and spawned in Ambush. As I ran forward I noticed an Arabic sign in front of me, but it didn’t look right. Upon closer inspection I realized that the characters were written from left to right like western characters. Arabic is written from right to left. I thought that peculiar so I started imagining a mirror image of the text and verbalizing what it said, just in case it contained a word I recognized. Well, it did.
In-fii-na-ya-ti-ya Wa-r-d
Looks like some blogs have covered the COD4 Arabic mishaps before, but this was news to me. Interesting easter egg (or screw-up), Infinity Ward.

Three Campaign Players, One Xbox
Interesting – a thread over at High Impact Halo describes a way to get three players on a single Xbox into a Coop Campaign game (normally, you’re limited to two). DollarPwnCenter created a video tutorial for folks who learn visually. Looks pretty cool! Thanks to Cocopjojo for the heads-up.(Louis Wu 23:38:23 UTC)
