Head on over to Waypoint for some cool shots of Blue Team and a gloriously rendered Nathan Fillion.(MacGyver10 14:46:14 UTC)

This week’s Canon Fodder is short – but absolutely worth reading. There are also teasers about the conclusion of #HUNTtheTRUTH, launching today. Go read! Thanks, zofinda. (Louis Wu 10:56:15 UTC)

Podtacular Special: 10 Year Anniversary Fundraiser

Earlier this week, we launched our 10 Year Anniversary RTX Reunion Party Fundraiser asking the Halo community to help us fund hosting a party for Halo fans. We have lots of plans for our anniversary panel and a laundry list of things we want to do there and our party. 343 Industries and other companies have already offered up some Halo swag for us to give away and help make our anniversary celebration a success. Please check out our Indiegogo campaign, consider donating and most importantly, share with other Halo fans.

Podtacular’s 10 Year Anniversary Reunion Party
Dust Storm shot us a note about a celebration that’s planned for RTX this year – Podtacular is celebrating its 10 year anniversary, and has some killer stuff in the pipeline! They need some help to make it all work, though, so there’s an Indiegogo Fundraiser set up – swing by their site to read all the details, and then toss ’em a few bucks to realize the dream!(Louis Wu 15:12:59 UTC)

Halo 5 Co-op Campaign Clarification
For folks who haven’t been keeping up on ALL the details, it’s worth noting this post on Halo Waypoint; it’s a clarification of a bit of information that was in Game Informer’s cover article on Halo 5. Co-op Campaign (which IS in the game) will require Xbox LIVE Gold to play – if you have a free account, you won’t have access. Good to know this up front!(Louis Wu 15:08:18 UTC)

Halo 5 Info from RUL
Greenskull from ReadyUpLive got a chance to play some Halo 5: Guardians recently, and the info dump is rather substantial. Bounce-A-Gon’s done a great job of itemizing what’s available – swing by his post for starting points! (Beware – if you’re looking to go into the campaign completely fresh, there ARE spoilers here.)(Louis Wu 14:55:37 UTC)

Halo 5: Guardians – first play
The Guardian has a ‘First Play’ article up on Halo 5 – it’s more of a bulletpoint summary of what’s coming, but if you haven’t been keeping up, it’s a nice recap.(Louis Wu 14:51:32 UTC)

Detailing the sides
More content from Game Informer: Two articles in the past few days have fleshed out the teams we’ll see in Halo 5. One discusses Blue Team, the Spartans that work with Master Chief, and the other focuses on Team Osiris, the team headed by Locke to hunt MC. Give ’em a read! (And if you hadn’t gotten around to reading the print copy of the Game Informer cover article, it’s online now.)(Louis Wu 14:43:59 UTC)

Evolved Combat
Game Informer released an interview last week with Josh Holmes and Ian Longo, discussing the evolution of Halo 5 – what’s included, how they’re working on tweaking the product as we near the home stretch. It’s a pretty interesting piece! Go watch. Thanks, Bounce-A-Gon.(Louis Wu 14:40:54 UTC)

ODST Reviews
More reviews are showing up for MCC’s Halo 3: ODST – FilmsGamesETC liked it quite a bit (though they wished they could swap back to see the older graphics), and IGN loved it (even with minor framerate dips at busy parts). Neither review took points off for features that were in the original but not the remake (specifically, Firefight). As a huge fan of ODST’s campaign (and someone who really enjoyed jumping back into this recently), I’m okay with that. 🙂 Remember – it only costs $5 (and it’s free if you played MCC in the first few months)!(Louis Wu 14:35:31 UTC)

ASE Ep. 159 Marathon Tempus Irae 23: Never Satisfied
Cosimo has created some fiendish puzzles for Leonardo, but we’re the ones trapped in them!
We’re doing a new Marathon adventure– this time fighting the Pfhor in Italy of the past in third party scenario Tempus Irae!
Tempus Irae can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
Tempus Irae and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:
http://source.bungie.org/scenarios.php#more
We use irons’ Co-Op script, which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Tempus Irae has its own spoiler guide:

Halo Dart Guns
Ray Reece shot us a link from Engadget – if you’re at SDCC this year, you’ll be able to pick up a set of Halo dart guns (one UNSC, one Covie). You MIGHT be able to buy it at Toys R Us after the show – but you won’t get the super-cool carrying case. I want one! (Louis Wu 20:23:16 UTC)
