Halo Pen from ComicCon
Praxis Solomen noticed an auction on eBay for a pen, collected during the 2008 San Diego ComicCon, which is labeled “The Battle Begins Fall 2008” and lights up. The title is ‘Halo Movie Pen’ – there’s no information about where this name came from. (Seems more likely that we’re talking about something like the Peter Jackson project than the Halo movie, but again, there’s no other information included.) Auction ends in just under a week.(Louis Wu 10:12:23 UTC)

From The Belly Of The Whale
Bungie president Harold Ryan tells Variety how to be swallowed by Microsoft and emerge unscathed. Some highlights: thoughts of going independent went back 3-4 years, the preparations went back more than 2 years, and one of the driving reasons was the freedom to work on non-Halo titles.

Streamable Rock Band 2 playlist
I’m looking forward to purchasing Rock Band 2 because of the hugely popular songs already confirmed for the game.
I’ve gone out and used the SeeqPod API to make a playlist of most all of the songs that will be shipping with Rock Band 2.
Stream the playlist after the break…
Please let me know if a song is no longer accessible or is corrupted. Enjoy!

Harold Ryan discusses creativity and success
Very interesting read over at The Cut Scene – it’s a pre-E3 interview with Bungie’s Harold Ryan, discussing how Halo has fit into the functioning of the studio for the past few years. There are tons of little tidbits that should be fascinating to anyone who wonders how Bungie does what it does, or why it left Microsoft, or when it started planning that move. Thanks, mendicantbias00.(Louis Wu 19:10:38 UTC)
