Halo Wars Preview at 1UP
1UP posted a Halo Wars preview based on what they saw at the Tokyo Game Show – we didn’t notice until BlueNinja brought it to our attention this morning. Give it a read for their take on the gameplay.(Louis Wu 13:00:51 UTC)

Halo Armor for Sale
Last year, we set up a gallery for Mad Cow’s Master Chief armor – this year, he’s selling it on eBay. (He wants to build an ODST suit, and hopes this will help fund it.) You can see from our gallery that he’s put a lot of love into this one… if you’re looking for a Halloween outfit, this might be it! (End date is just under a week away.)(Louis Wu 11:38:18 UTC)

No Relation to ‘Lick’
Jim Smith was the first to let us know that today’s Least I Could Do comic had a Halo reference. (He points out that the comic is not particularly kid-friendly, but this strip is certainly safe for work.)(Louis Wu 11:37:43 UTC)

Flag Planted.
Hawty McBloggy couldn’t let a story with a focus on sex and Halo simply fade… Last week, we mentioned a Dutch study which suggested that men who were quick on the trigger in video games might be… quick on the trigger in other areas. Hawty has taken it upon herself to help those guys out. Go read. (Louis Wu 11:36:42 UTC)

SouthPeak Acquires GameCock
GameCock, famed interrupter of awards ceremonies, holder of funerals for tradeshows, and publishers of games by Wideload such as Hail to the Chimp, have been acquired by SouthPeak.
SouthPeak published last year’s Two Worlds RPG on the PC and 360, a game that was widely criticized for failing to live up to the high standards set by Bethesda’s similar game, Oblivion.

Montage Man Part 2 Trailer
Raptree Forever came back by with word of a trailer for Montage Man Part 2 – Part 1 came out back in January. I liked Part 1; I’m not sure I get the same vibe from the Part 2 trailer, but I’m willing to wait and see.(Louis Wu 20:09:40 UTC)

The man’s a machine.
Wow. Just… wow. Back in July, we pointed out that Pahis had destroyed the ‘Million Point Challenge’ set up by High Speed Halo back in October 2007 – using only three levels. His total score, at that point, was 2.2 million. He’d also completed the full game in SLASO mode in four and a quarter hours. Cody Miller stopped by to announce that Pahis has shattered the 3 million point milestone for Campaign scoring… and he’s down to just over three and a half hours for his SLASO speedrun total. Pahis – holder of both High Score and SLASO Speed records, for every level in Halo 3. As Cody says… Inconceivable! (Louis Wu 18:19:54 UTC)

Can My Mom Have Recon?
Bryan Simon has posted his tenth (and final) Halo song on YouTube – it’s called ‘Can My Mom Have Recon?‘ and it’s a funny look at those folks who think that asking for Recon for someone ELSE is a good idea. (Something that was even funnier for me was that I actually play with someone whose mom plays too – and she IS pretty good. She’s not a 45, though. And I’m pretty sure she doesn’t want Recon, because she makes fun of me for wearing it.) If you’d rather have an audio-only version, we’re hosting the mp3 – 3.3 mb. (Louis Wu 14:20:02 UTC)

X3F wants your Halo/Bungie Questions
Whoa – I managed to miss this until now; I’m not sure if it’s too late, but I’ll give it a shot. Xbox360Fanboy is sitting down with Bungie later today to talk to them about Recon, and they’ve asked for your questions. Stop by the news post, add your question as a comment – there might still be time for them to filter through.(Louis Wu 12:49:35 UTC)

Believe Revisited – a fan’s view
kr-1426 had made a couple of fake TV spots for Halo 3, following the ‘Believe’ mold, which he planned to release around the time of Halo 3’s anniversary, but he didn’t get to it. They’re up now, though, and I must say, Remembrance is really well-done.(Louis Wu 12:14:34 UTC)

RvB: Reconstruction Chap 17
It’s hard to keep track when it’s a holiday sometimes, but yesterday was Monday, so a new Red vs Blue: Reconstruction (Chapter 17) was released. It’s available for everyone now – and it’s a doozy. Some pretty big bombshells in this one… along with some classic (and I mean classic) RvB humor. Go watch.(Louis Wu 11:37:44 UTC)
