Bungie – Looking Forward
GamesIndustry.biz has posted the second part of an interview they conducted with Brian Jarrard and Luke Smith during the Tokyo Game Show (we mentioned Part 1 here) They talk about how they’re happy with Halo’s success, but that they’re also looking forward to the next project, and how that project is totally independent from Microsoft. As Narcogen at Rampancy.net points out, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Microsoft will not be publishing their next title – but it’s certainly not a given.(Louis Wu 11:52:33 UTC)

New Bungie Property Independent From Microsoft
GamesIndustryBiz has put up the second part of an interview with Bungie’s Brian “SketchFactor” Jarrard and Luke Smith. Here is part one.
Sketch remarks therein that Bungie has complete freedom to choose the publisher and platform for their new intellectual property– property that Microsoft does not own. Microsoft does own Halo, and Bungie has a team working on the Halo 3: Recon expansion, due out next fall.
I’ll do some spin right now: just because Bungie can choose a different platform and publisher doesn’t necessarily mean that Bungie’s next non-Halo game won’t be published by Microsoft for the Xbox 360, but it doesn’t mean that it won’t, either.

Sniper Jackals Down
Bad Cyborg covers some interesting techniques for tackling Tsavo Highway on foot. This is a lot of fun, if you’ve never tried it, you’re missing out. A level that with vehicles and support troops is a quick breeze through the trees with a couple of thorny spots becomes a nice challenge all the way through.

343 Guilt O’ Lantern 2008
Every year, we’ve hosted a pumpkin-carving contest, and we’ve given away some really cool stuff. This year, real life has gotten in the way, and we just HAD a contest where we gave away a lot of really cool stuff… so it’s unclear what we’re going to have in the pot for pumpkin-carvers. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a contest. (And it doesn’t mean we won’t have ANYTHING – I’ve already gotten a couple of generous offers from fans willing to kick in to the prize pools. It just means I don’t know WHAT we’ll have, come November.) Announcing, therefore… the 343 Guilt O’ Lantern 2008 Contest. You’ve got a little less than two weeks to get us your pics of cool pumpkin carvings. By the time the submission window closes, we’ll have a prize list up – but carve your pumpkins for the love of the sport, not for what someone will give you for it. I needed an additional audio adapter to make my Xbox 360 VGA cable work with PC speakers, so I went to Monoprice because they generally have audio/video cables and adapters at dirt cheap prices with tiny shipping costs to boot. I wasn’t disappointed. I got the adapters I needed shipped to my door for $3.xx Out of curiosity I added all the cables necessary to get Xbox 360 video to a PC monitor and the audio to PC speakers.
