Update on a disturbing shooting in Ohio
I… wow. I don’t know what to say about this. Cleveland.com has an update on a court case that began last October, when a 16-year-old boy was barred from buying Halo 3 by his parents. In retribution for this, the boy shot both of his parents in the head, killing his mother and wounding his father, a pastor. It’s difficult to look at the facts in the case and say “the parents did a bad job”, or “the boy clearly had problems that weren’t being addressed” – from the details available in the original story, it would appear he was a normal kid with a normal life. Would something else have driven him to this extreme if it hadn’t been a video game? It’s impossible to say… but it’s a frightening case that should make you think a little bit about violence in our society.(Louis Wu 17:00:53 UTC)
