Podtacular 503: Interview with Gus & Pax Prime 2015 Recap

We’re back from our two weeks off of the podcast as we start counting down the days to the launch of Halo 5: Guardians. While there was not much Halo at Pax aside from Warzone playable at the Xbox booth, there was plenty of things to keep us busy. We are joined by Rebel Rouser and Minolta1034 from Ready Up Live to recap our Pax Prime experience. Before our recap, we had the honor of talking with Gus from Rooster Teeth about his experience with gaming, his thoughts on Halo 5: Guardians and the evolution of video games, and what it’s like to work at a gaming/entertainment company.

ASE Ep. 169 Marathon Tempus Irae 34 I Can Feel It
Blackstar and Narcogen have to reboot the Pfhor computer core in one of Tempus Irae’s most puzzle-filled levels.
We’re fighting the Pfhor in Italy of the past in third party scenario Tempus Irae!
Tempus Irae can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
Tempus Irae and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:
http://source.bungie.org/scenarios.php#more
There’s a ZIP format archive here:

We use irons’ Co-Op script, (but not this time) which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Halo 5 Voice Actor Panel at Summer Sac-Anime 2015
In her travels to other forums, Grizzlei came across the links to a great Halo 5 voice actor panel from Summer-Sac Anime 2015. Steve Downes and Jen Taylor, the voices of the Chief and Cortana, were there of course, but the voice actors for Olympia Vale and Spartan Fred-104/Jul ‘Mdama also were on this great panel. It’s split into three parts, but Grizzlei has linked everything in our forum and even discussed some of the highlights of the panel! Be forewarned, there are very minor spoilers involved as to some character interaction in Halo 5: Guardians, but nothing too earth-shattering.(MacGyver10 15:46:59 UTC)
