Podtacular 504: Epic Battles and Team Dynamic

As Halo 5: Guardians approaches, info keeps rolling out. This week we got our next big info dump of campaign information in the form of two videos. We learned about the epic-scaled worlds and battles that will take place during Halo 5’s story, but also how the relationships within and between the two fireteams plays an integral role in the campaign. Since we’ve been away from the news scene since before Pax Prime, we also caught up on some of the other important information that has surfaced. Joining us this week is community member Mending Mercy.

Episode 503 Excerpt: Split-Screen and Community

During our last episode, we talked with Rebel Rouser and Minolta1034 about our Pax Prime experience. In traditional Podtacular fashion, we had several tangents talking about Halo. We cut out a pretty big one from the episode for the sake of time. In this excerpt, we explore the decision of split-screen being cut affecting the couch co-op experience, and the current state of the Halo community compared to the community in the past and other current gaming communities. If you’re interested in hearing us ramble on for an extra 30 minutes, you can download the excerpt from here.

With the new REQ system, everyone will eventually have their shot at getting this armor, but LE console owners get it day one! Thanks to Chief Canuck, you can check out a picture of the armor on his Facebook page.(MacGyver10 22:22:56 UTC)

Bring Your Own Bros
Like most of the Halo campaigns before it, Frankie has confirmed that there will be no campaign matchmaking in Halo 5: Guardians. Apparently, your squad of AI companions will more than likely be better teammates than a random ‘uncooperative, ammo-stealing, car-crashing diet racist you might have ended up with’.(MacGyver10 18:41:48 UTC)
