Halo Community Update – 09/25/2015
Bravo posted the latest community update late this past Friday. They go behind the scenes of the Blue Team cinematic with with the animator Matt Campbell who as you can tell if you’ve seen the cinematic, is a hugh fan of the Halo lore and it makes for a great read. There is also discussion of the Osiris mission that was debuted last week and explanation of how the Covenant Kraken came to be. RUL Shows Off the Halo 5 Menus and Some Warzone Gameplay
Bounce-A-Gon linked us to some cool Warzone and Menu displaying videos from RUL. You can see here his complete walkthrough of the Menu system for controls and REQ items showing off the names of every helmet, armor, visor, stance, emblem and assassination. There’s also a video of some gameplay on Raid On Apex 7 with more use of the REQ system (and the new mongoose with a reverse seat instead of standing platform) than I’ve seen yet.(MacGyver10 18:39:44 UTC)

A Hero Falls
As we mentioned last week, the folks at 343 Industries came through with a new TV commercial for Halo 5 that debuted last night during football. It paints a bleak time for fans of the Chief, but how much of it is just ONI or UNSC propaganda? A Grunt Tries to Fake the Chief Out
Rockslider is back with one of the most fearsome grunts I’ve ever seen! This guy throws his dukes up against the chief without a weapon, or at least acts like he has a fuel rod gun (imaginary intimidation?). Podtacular 506: Delusional
After learning FERO’s true identity, Maya Sankar is taken to Midnight facility, where she is to be brief on a new assignment. Before heading to her brief, she takes a detour to check in on Ben Giraud, seeing what happened to him after ONI turned him into a scapegoat. While Ben still believed in FERO and her mission, Maya accidentally revealed to Ben her true assignment. Not a moment later, Maya was called by Sully to his office as Ben was sedated. Maya’s and Sully’s exchange revealed his true purpose for being at Midnight and unveils what is happening to Ben. At the end, Maya receives her brief from Noah, where she is to investigate a strange anomaly site on Meridian. We are once again joined by Toa Freak from Halo Canon.

Podtacular 505: An Unpleasant Story
At long last Hunt the Truth returns for a second season, but instead of picking up with Petra Janecek from the conclusion of season one, we meet a new face within the story, or rather unveil a mysterious character, Maya Sankar as FERO. We heard Ben’s story, how the bold journalist got turned into an ONI scapegoat. Now it’s Maya’s turn to tell her story, or rather FERO’s story while she’s been playing during her operation as an ONI agent. We are pleased to have Toa Freak joining us on the show for all of our Hunt the Truth Season two discussions. Make sure to check out his channel Halo Canon.

Fan Fiction Friday – 09/25/15
We had three in the cue for today, but only one was actual Halo Fan-Fiction and not two sentences repeated over and over for ‘GRANDADDY THE MOVIE’…seriously. Arena Gameplay from RUL
Bounce-A-Gon twice shared a couple of new videos from Ready Up Live of multiplayer gameplay in Halo 5. There’s some great Breakout gameplay on GAMBOL, and more gameplay on ALTITUDE, highlighting the changes to Breakout (including the new centralized flag to help with stalemates). There’s also slayer gameplay on The Rig that shows off some new features (like an invisibility icon with countdown) and CTF gameplay on Coliseum we haven’t seen before!(MacGyver10 18:48:44 UTC)
