ASE Ep. 170 Marathon Tempus Irae 35 The End
We place the final manuscript in the final receptacle and wonder aloud: is that all there is? Are we really at The End?
We’re fighting the Pfhor in Italy of the past in third party scenario Tempus Irae!
Tempus Irae can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:
Tempus Irae and other third party scenarios for the Aleph One engine can be downloaded here:
http://source.bungie.org/scenarios.php#more
There’s a ZIP format archive here:
http://nardo.bungie.org/alephone.php
Direct link:

We use irons’ Co-Op script, (but not this time) which gives weapons and ammo to both players if either picks any up, and prevents weapon loss on death (so items can’t be destroyed in lava or slime). The script also allows one player to teleport to a destination set by themselves or their partner, in case co-op players run into a problem a solo player would have to restart for.

Tempus Irae has its own spoiler guide:

Let’s Play Mass Effect: #15 EneMonkey Mine
Once again, we were planning on going straight to Feros, but the Admiral wants us to pat down some monkeys.
We’re now running on the Xbox One in Backwards Compatibility mode. Since DLC is no longer supported, this means we did an off-camera scratch start with a new character who looks a lot like the earlier one and is an Infiltrator, but has a different background, a few more Renegade points, and now actually has to level up abilities and collect weapons and armor for herself and the crew.
This is the first in our new Spectator Mode series, where we try to co-op games that don’t actually have co-op. First up, the sweeping space opera Mass Effect, that has all the classic RPG features that Bungie’s Destiny left out, as well as all the clumsy third person shooting features they never put in.
This is Mass Effect.
WARNING: This is an “adult game” with “adult themes” whatever that means. What it means for this playthrough is that characters are going to use some mild language that might be inappropriate for small children, and we’re not going to be censoring it or ourselves. We’re still going to avoid f-bombs and particularly graphic language, but be warned, this isn’t going to be as squeaky clean as some of our other series.
We’re also leaving in conversations as well as combat; the trimming on this series will be minimal, but we’ll start each episode with a recap of major events.
