Jackson counting on Halo 3 to renew movie interest
Interesting – Peter Jackson did an interview for OnFilm Magazine in which he discussed, among other things, the Halo movie.Jackson said he expected renewed interest from Hollywood studios 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures to have Halo made as the Halo 3 video game will be released later this year.
He and partner Fran Walsh would be involved again in Halo only if Blomkamp is the director. “We wouldn’t want to do it with anybody else. It’ll be Neill’s call.”Thanks to Mariachi, who found it at Dark Horizons.(Louis Wu 14:03:59 UTC)

Halo 3 Pre-Sell Kit
Devin Olsen was in Wal-Mart, and noticed a new ‘Halo 3 Pre-Sell Kit’ – a poster and a reservation for the game. Costs $10, but that goes towards the price of the game, so the poster’s free. If you haven’t already preordered, and you want to – this might be a nice deal! (Caveat – he lives in Canada. No guarantee these will be in the US.)(Louis Wu 13:57:36 UTC)

Zune Giveaway Quick Update
Wow. The Zune giveaway was announced just 3 hours ago, and already we have 31 people registered to be able to submit, and two actual submissions. Just wanted to remind everyone, the submission deadline is June 10 – over two weeks from today. There’s absolutely no advantage to rushing your entry in now; doing so locks you out of making changes, of choosing a different subject, of basically putting any thought at all into the idea. Just a suggestion… sleep on it.(Louis Wu 02:12:48 UTC)

Heat Maps are cool.
The Bungie Weekly Update is (predictably, in the middle of the Halo 3 Beta test) all about the Halo 3 Beta test. Good stuff. Go read! (It’s here, too, of course, in the Weekly Update Archive.) Looks like LoneRanger 2.5 got to it, finally. (He got it wrong the first time.)(Louis Wu 00:18:11 UTC)

Banshees… In… SPACE!
Last night, JAY132 stopped by to say he’d gotten a banshee into space. What does that mean? Well, it means Bungie bothered to make the sky above Valhalla high enough that if you actually GET there (which you’re really not ever supposed to do), you can see the atmosphere fade away. Amazing. Jayshum’s vid is linked here (it’s on YouTube), plus there’s a similar vid from Clan Hat Trick both on YouTube and in higher res on Mythica. Cool stuff!(Louis Wu 15:16:03 UTC)
