Tor to reissue early Halo novels
VAVA Mk2 was the first on our forum to notice a Joystiq article about an intent to reissue the first three Halo novels (The Fall of Reach, Halo: The Flood, and First Strike) as trade paperbacks, with “updates and all-new original content.” Our forum isn’t thrilled with the idea of retconned novels (I suppose, though, that “updates” could simply mean “typos fixed”), or with the cover art shown so far… but there’s some interesting conversation nonetheless. Go join it! (The new, full cover for Fall of Reach is here.) Update: Halo Waypoint has clarified (on their Facebook page) that ‘updates’ are just stuff like typos, punctuation errors, and the like – no rewrites. The original story has NOT been altered. If that were the case “new content” would have been listed as “rewritten,” which is not the case.
This is the first time TOR’s publishing these particular books. No retconning happening! Thanks, mendicantbias, for pointing this out.(Louis Wu 11:52:57 UTC)
