Alan Stott says “HALO-NET is now open and taking members.”

Joseph Haake points out that gXp hasn’t actually pulled the screens yet… the direct links still work (see yesterday’s news for any of them), they’ve simply pulled the news items referring to them. Wonder how long that’s going to last?

Bungie’s Yeroen says the new movie (and gXp’s screens) aren’t kosher. Oh, well. I was looking forward to a whole lot more.

From Synox, posted at the Core: The movie on the PC Action disc has a fun Marine handstand. Look quick… he posted a bit earlier that PC Action has a copyright on the movie that prohibits its upload anywhere for 6 weeks, so he may have to pull it.

They just keep cranking them out… Two more screenshots from gXp… HALO5.JPG and HALO6.JPG. Kudos to MacDrugal, who reported them on our forum less than 20 minutes after we received word from MacDoerk at gXp. Halo5, especially, is a pretty interesting shot… reflecting surfaces showing nicely.

Kudos to Harry Al-Shakarchi for his translations of the text accompanying the GXP pictures. He sent in both the first Halo blurb (two days ago): “Take 2 sent us these 2 brand new pictures of Bungie’s Halo. Please note that these pics are not from a pre-rendered intro sequence, but from a running game.” and…

An anonymous poster on our forums suggests that there might be a hint to Bungie’s viewing system for Halo in the bottom left corner of GXP’s HALO4.JPG. The first line looks like “First Person Camera”, the second could be “Rotating Camera”. Any image processors want to take a crack at this?

Tobbe points out on our forums that a Swedish gaming site, fragzone.se, has a short blurb on Halo. My swedish is nonexistent, but it seems to be comparing Halo and Quake3, to Q3’s detriment…

A German subsidiary of Incite PC, GXP, has posted a pair of pretty amazing Halo pics. We don’t want to add these until we have permission, but if you can’t get to the German site (it seems to be perpetually down), you can find both images at Voodoo Extreme. As mentioned on our forums, MacDrugal re-reopens (?) his halo site, with a new name, and a new focus. Currently has an interesting analysis of the halo on it. Take a look!
