GoW – the next Halo 2, competitively?
Over at the Advanced Media Network, there’s an article about the potential that Gears of War has as a competitive shooter – with some interesting comparisons between GoW and Halo 2. Thanks to 3Suns for pointing this out.(Louis Wu 15:00:24 UTC)

Inspiration…
The current issue of the Escapist Magazine has an article on movies that have heavily influenced videogame development – Halo gets a number of mentions, with Aliens leading the pack of movies that, if removed from existence, might kill the game altogether. Thanks to Narcogen, who noticed this over at Rampancy.net.(Louis Wu 14:48:41 UTC)

Gears of Ha… Oh, Forget It

Bad Artists Copy, Great Artists Steal
The Escapist is calling Bungie a great artist in their piece on how the gaming industry shamelessly pillages the film industry, especially in the area of science fiction. The concept of the article: to make a list of movies so influential on the games industry that, if they had not ever existed, the gaming industry…

Russian Humorist Takes On Stubbs The Zombie
When we heard whispers to expect something “soon” from Wideload, I’m sure nobody had this in mind. Translator Dmitri “Goblin” Puchkov, responsible for many of the best quality dubs of Western movies and television programs into Russian, including some hilarious spoof dubs of films like Star Wars Episode One and Shmatrica, a parody of The…

RT: The importance of Prenups
Looks like it’s going to snow in Austin tonight. They say there could be as many as 3 inches. Now I’m no expert, but I think that qualifies as a blizzard? Someone from the north will have to confirm that for me. Anyway, today’s comic is below, and shows…

RT: Heartstrings
Just in case you missed it, Episode 88 is here. Also, today’s comic is posted below. It’s about Jason. I know what you’re thinking, “There’s nothing interesting about Jason.” Typically I’d agree, but in light of this comic, you may change your…

RT: Sick Month
I don’t know if you have ever heard of this game called World Of Warcraft, but apparently it’s kind of popular. It’s also the reason Gus gets out of bed every morning. Apparently in WOW (for the first time in his life), Gus gets to be the bully. Every morning…

The Assault
trigger119 sent word of a new machinima he’s hosting over at GamingTV.org. It’s called The Assault, and he found it because Laird (of SvF and Halo: Unyielding) did some 3D work for it. The voice acting could use some work… and so could the choreography. But the added touches (a communication screen, a Pelican, etc)…
