A little info about challenges
July 26th, 2010 by halo@bungie.org No comments »
ZaneZavin pointed out an article at IGN that focuses on the customization options for Reach. Most of the information has been covered in a number of other places - but there's a bit on the Daily Challenges that you might find interesting:
Each day a new challenge will appear, which you can learn simply by being signed into Xbox Live and scrolling down to the Challenge portion of the menu. Complete the challenge and you'll get "a significant number of credits."
There may be some crazy conditions that need to be met, including playing on specific levels with specific skulls turned on. Just setting up a game could be a chore -- or at least it could be if Bungie wasn't doing all of the work for you. When you scroll to a specific challenge, all you have to do is hit the A Button to accept it. From there, the game will automatically set up a lobby with all of the specific conditions needed to meet the challenge already set up for you.
That sounds like Bungie's made participating in the Challenge arena a no-brainer for most people! (Louis Wu 13:58:06 UTC)
Goodbye My Friend
July 26th, 2010 by halo@bungie.org No comments »
Sebastiaan Scheers sent us word of 'Goodbye My Friend', a Bungie Day-inspired Halo 3 tribute. It runs through most (all?) of the Multiplayer maps. (Some transitions are better than others.) It's not quite goodbye yet - Reach doesn't come out for another month and a half - but go reminisce!

More Dongage from DMR
July 26th, 2010 by halo@bungie.org No comments »
LightningNC noticed that in the Firefight videos from SDCC, the DMR no longer has 12 bullets in its magazine, it now has 15. Nice bonus! Update: RvB regular sithhead2 pointed out that this information was released in the Mayish Bungie Podcast - Chris Carney explained that this increase (and the Needle Rifle bump from 16 to 21 needles) allowed for 3 perfect kills before a reload was required. Guess it's still nice to see in action!(Louis Wu 12:07:38 UTC)
