Tarps Everywhere

February 28th, 2013
As often happens on Wednesday nights, the Halo Waypoint Bulletin was released yesterday, and if you swing by and read it, you'll get info on next week's Playlist updates, details about the newly-functional-on-web Halo 4 File Browser (lots of cool screenshots already!), and thoughts about the end of Spartan Ops Season 1's storyline. (This last has made members of our forum somewhat unhappy.) As always, if you want to you can read it in our local Halo Bulletin Archive. (Louis Wu 18:04:26 UTC)

Podtacular – Halo 4 Campaign, Requiem

February 28th, 2013

Podtacular Podcast

From Dust Storm:

Continuing our journey in the Halo 4 Campaign, the Master Chief crash lands on Requiem in the remains of the Forward Unto Dawn and other Covenant ships that got sucked in with you. There’s no doubt that there are Covenant that made it down with you, too. Near the very beginning of the level, there is one part that truly shows how beautiful the game looks on 7-year-old hardware, but don’t let that keep you for too long. Remember, you need to figure out where you are. We are joined by B2theRyanNewman to help cover the mission. Enjoy!

GI Photo Tour Of Bungie

February 28th, 2013
Bungie logo

Steve Peterson at has put up a Photo Tour of the new offices Bungie is developing Destiny in. Of the things I didn't know about the building, this one was the most interesting:

Parsons related how they had to use the second-largest crane in the country to lower the refrigeration units onto the roof; he said they were afraid they'd have to use a helicopter, which would have meant shutting down a wide area of the city, but fortunately that wasn't needed. Refrigeration and air conditioning are important due to the massive server infrastructure required by Bungie's operations; six huge units occupy much of the roof space.

Sounds like Bungie has big infrastructure plans around Destiny, far more than just XBL matchmaking.

Have Black Light, Will See Faces

February 27th, 2013
Kotaku has the story of a pretty cool little feature that Bungie included in the printed materials that came with the Limited Edition of Halo: Reach. (They call it an easter egg - I'm not sure I agree with that. Looks like an identifying hologram to me, it's just not visible unless you use a black light.) Either way - it's pretty slick! Thanks, GryphonOsiris.(Louis Wu 22:09:08 UTC)

Bad blood brews between the Master Chief and Del Rio, forcing the Chief and Cortana to deal with the Didact alone while Infinity makes a run for it. Fortunately, saving Lasky's ass decades earlier pays off when he suits him up with a combat-ready Pelican and a blessing of hope.

Editor's note: Language is mature. Proceed with caution.
