Johnathan Lugo wrote to point out NYC Gaming, a site offering a number of Halo tourneys - there's one in Brooklyn on September 2 ($30 pp to get in, MLG sponsorship on the line), and another in Manhattan on September 9 ($20 to get in, $300 plus prizes for first place). Project Magma has announced the availability of a public beta of version 1.6 of Myth II. The update makes Myth II on the Mac a Universal application, running natively on PPC or Intel hardware, allows it to run in a window on Windows 2000 or XP, and many other new features and bug fixes. This is a final quality-testing release before the final release. The team is offering the beta for download at The Tain and requesting feedback in the Project Magma forums.

Hushed Casket Celebrates Fourth Year

Hushed Casket, a long-standing gaming group that has that's been around since the early days of Halo 1, is celebrating its fourth year of existence today. Its founder, rapture, has written a few words about their experiences over the years.

This is what the Halo community is all about. rapture wrote up a summary of the last year for The Hushed Casket - a Halo-centric (though not exclusive) group in Huntsville, AL. Heh - Ducain pointed out a new Halo vid, again by BigGruntyThirst, over at High Impact Halo... it builds on the technique shown in his recent variety vid, but as Ducain says, the kicker here is how easy he makes it all look!
