GameSpot – Spartan Ops Episode 6 Chapter 3 Developer Commentary |

From Official Xbox Magazine:
Spartan Ops, Halo 4’s ambitious weekly downloadable co-op campaign, ended the first half of its inaugural season with some unsettling developments. Dr. Catherine “I founded the Spartans” Halsey was seemingly up to no good aboard the Infinity, the Didact’s Hand had captured a UNSC scientist to awaken the Forerunner known as the Librarian, and Fireteam Crimson was captured by Covenant forces.
Episode 6, launching next week and free to anyone with a copy of Halo 4, doesn’t waste any time dealing with these issues. The gorgeous opening cinematic is lengthy and sets in motion a dramatic run towards the season finale. More importantly, it sets the tone for some gameplay changes for the season’s final five episodes. Read our complete article via the link below.
From Inside Gaming:
We sat down with mission designer David Ellis to talk about well, lots of stuff; but mostly Spartan Ops Season One and its upcoming conclusion.

From IGN:
At nearly every turn, Spartan Ops let IGN editors down for failing to live up to Halo standard – and that finally changes on Monday, January 21. Episode Six of Halo 4’s downloadable weekly cooperative campaign kicks off the second half of Season One, and it goes to great lengths to make up for past mistakes. During the mid-season break, 343 Industries worked to strengthen the second half of Spartan Ops season one by addressing fan feedback and important criticisms head-on. From LayedBackGaming:
This is a remake of the Halo 2 classic map Lockout, by Big Papa SaLoT. In terms of scale, it is almost 100% accurate. It is an amazing remake, and I strongly recommend downloading it and checking it out!
How to download:
1. Go to the Infinity menu on Halo 4
2. Click “Start” and go to “Settings & Files”
3. Go to “File Browser” then “Map Variants”
4. Go to “File Share Search” and type in “Big Papa SaLoT”
5. Download and have fun!!
If you’re anything like me, your dreams are full of Spartan super-soldiers and their larger-than-life rides. If the latter sounds familiar, check out LA Times automotive writer David Undercoffler’s thoughts on our recently commissioned Warthog, which stands (er, rolls?) almost 8 feet tall, more than 8 feet wide and more than 17 feet long. Yes, it comes with a turret. No, it’s not real. You can’t have everything, you know…

Newb, in a frantic attempt to kill and not be killed, finds himself spiraling into some unknown interdimensional halfway point between life and rebirth. In other words, the “break room” in between the time you die and come back where Halo Spartans go to socialize when not hard at work. There he meets Otto and Ted, who break the news of the truth to him in this ode to the ’90’s sitcom netherworld.

ODS Steve. The man. The legend. The hero that knows no fear. Join him and Delta Squad for their comical adventures as they valiantly attempt to drop into enemy territory to take the fight straight to the Covenant. This week, we find out what exactly happens when the Covenant leave Grunts in charge…

Every Monday, we feature a community member who does one or more of the following things: routinely goes above and beyond for their fellow forum members, is a positive and active member of the community, and/or sends me mass amounts of cat pictures. This week our Community Member of the Week is aixnekko. Read a little more about her below, then hit her profile to learn why she considers herself a master of the splatters!

Gamertag: aixnekko.
Origin of Gamertag: It’s supposed to be Japanese. Translated: lovexcat.
Current clan/community: Waypoint.
Halo game(s) you are currently playing: Just Halo 4. I have 1, 2, 3 and 4, though.
Favorite map, game type and playlist: Solace and Complex, Infinity Slayer and Capture the Flag, and Crimson DLC. I die so much in Capture the Flag, and I blame it for my K/D, but I enjoy capturing flags with the Mongoose. I’m also a Splatter Master, so I enjoy maps with the Ghost. xD
Preferred control scheme: Bumper Jumper and Default.
Halo playing style (offense, defense, sniper, driver, etc.): I’ve been learning not to rush and wait for them to come to me. I’m pretty aggressive, though. I get a lot of Plasma sticks on teams. For some reason the Storm Rifle became my most used weapon and the one that I’m most comfortable with. I also use the DMR. I have a loadout that combines both.
Favorite Halo Character: Can I say the Grunts? I wish they talked in this Halo. It was my favorite part in the others. I played the campaign with the Birthday skull, and it was hilarious. xD
Favorite Halo book: Love reading but Halo hasn’t appealed to me yet. Maybe one day.
Favorite Halo quote: “He was my best friend and now he’s dead!” – Grunt
Anything else we should know? This past year I decided to pay serious attention to my Xbox. It’s been going well…
