Submit stuff for Episode 80: Tips show with map of the month: Lockout
Wow, is it Tuesday already? We’re recording in just a few days, so we need stuff to talk about!
If you sneak up behind someone and press BAXLRBB you will put them in a sleeper hold
We’re looking for tips a little better than this. And real ones! Send in your gameplay tips for levels 25-35. Whether it’s how to use a certain weapon effectively, how to lead headshots, teamwork, aiming stickies, or jumping techniques, we want to hear it! Just click the Submit News and Tips link on the right side and send it in with your gamertag so we can give you credit. If it’s good we’ll read your tip on the show!
Map of the Month: everyone’s favorite map! Lockout
Lockout is so awesome. The two competing bases, the long drops, the crazy games of Frantic CTF, the BR battles, grabbing the sniper from the opposite side of the map, covering 3 exits from the library, this deceptively simple map makes for some very interesting battles. We’re going to be talking about how to compete at a high level on this map, so your tips are appreciated! Tell us how you pwn in Slayer games, SWAT, CTF or Assault, Juggernaut, Oddball, Territories or King of the Hill. If you’re really crazy, send us tips on all of these!
Deadline is Thursday Night
but as usual the earlier you get your tip in, the more likely it will be read in the next show. So hurry up and beat the crowd!

Making Games The Wideload Way
Excellent online gaming magazine The Escapist has an article called The Wideload Way on Wideload Games this week. Those who have read previous articles focusing on Wideload’s outsourcing-heavy business model will find little new here. There’s a confirmation that Stubbs sold well enough to fund Wideload’s next project, but there’s still no information on what that project might be.

Audacity Tutorial
QuickTactical has whipped up a basic guide to using Audacity, a cross-platform audio program that lets users record their voice – useful for machinima makers who don’t want to record dialogue over XBL. He posted it on Halogrid.com – and we’ve put up a local mirror for posterity. Give it a read!(Louis Wu 10:41:40 UTC)

Finding A New Voice
Captain Spark fired up his Halo dialogue website at the end of last month, upgrading to a new CMS– PHP-Fusion. Be sure to check it out, even though he admits the current design is a placeholder (now where have we heard that before?). He’s also working on an IWHBYD skull tutorial which I’m sure many will be eager to check out.

The Halo Bible Does Exist… Doesn’t It?
Brannon Boren, of Boren’s Syndrome fame, laments on his blog that the Wikipedia entry on Bungie Studios casts doubt on the existence of the Halo Bible.
Such a shame.

Rampancy Upgraded To Drupal 4.7
As of now, Rampancy.net is running on the latest and greatest stable version of the Drupal content management system, Drupal 4.7. This version has been out for some time, but just now supports all the contributed modules the site needs to run. Some features (like the gamertag database) are offline for the moment but should be back soon.
If you see any errors, drop me a line at narcogen@rampancy.net.

Episode 79: Halo 3 show with special guest host: Laird from Sponsors vs. Freeloaders

Download | Show Notes
It’s the Halo 3 show where we talk about what YOU want to see in Halo 3, your ideas about the storyline, what you expect to see in the game, and what we know so far about it. We also talk about other games Halo freaks play, which has some pretty cool stuff there too. And as a bonus, we have an interview toward the beginning with Laird from Sponsors vs. Freeloaders, the hit machinima series. He also talks about other stuff he’s been up to lately which we think you’ll find interesting. Thanks to JVBizzle for being on the show despite the chaos of moving from New York to Florida these days, thanks to Kimo23 for this week’s pod art, and thanks to Ciclonic for editing audio. Dig it!
