Makin’ a Buck
This popped up yesterday, but I forgot to mention it. Apparently, one of the UK sites that has been given a set of beta slots to give away to fans has decided to SELL those slots. Microsoft was not amused, and warned any site caught doing this would be cut off from all future Microsoft goodies. (Presumably, the slots that were sold will be voided, as well.) If the site you love is SELLING slots instead of giving them away, run; as Evil Otto puts it – “the only thing you will purchase is disappointment.” Thanks to Red_Breast for the first heads-up. Update: looks like that Britbox article has been yanked – Deadguy71 found a different one that’s still live, at HEXUS Gaming.(Louis Wu 13:33:40 UTC)

Alternating Blockbusters
Red_Breast found a story at totally360.com (and 3Suns found a similar one at 2old2play) talking about a snippet in an upcoming issue of EGM – apparently, they’re claiming that Microsoft’s gameplan is to alternate Gears of War and Halo releases, to help stomp on Sony and Nintendo’s marketing buzz. The biggest problem with this gameplan is that Bungie has already said that Halo 3 is the end of this story arc, and (while they haven’t said they’re throwing up yet) they’ve been working nearly exclusively on Halo for the past 7 years. At some point… you’d think they’d be tired of it, even if Microsoft isn’t. Maybe the ‘Halo’ after Gears 2 will be Halo Wars?(Louis Wu 03:51:14 UTC)

The Heretic Drama Trailer
Nerrolken, of the Edgeworks Entertainment team (the guys who created the Codex Series last year), sent word that they’ve released The Heretic Trailer, the first of two. This is the Drama Trailer – the next will be the Action Trailer. It gives you a taste of the storyline of the upcoming Heretic series. King of the Hill is basically a talk about the contenders for the top game of the month spot and how they compare to the longest running top game on xbox live: Halo 2. This month we’ll be focusing on Rainbow Six: Vegas. Do you have this game? Have you played the single player or multiplayer demo on xbox live? Let us know what you think of it! Just click submit news and tips on the right side and send us your opinion of the game (and especially why you think that) with your gamertag. If it’s interesting, we’ll mention it on the show!

The LOA clan along with XGA are sponsoring a Halo 2 4v4 CHARITY EVENT for gamers across the globe to team up and help kids in hospitals this holiday season. They decided to rally competitve gamers to do some good this season and put a smile on some of these kids faces by bringing them the gift of gaming.

Dennis Powers has re-released his movie Static, as a single 320×240 file, 36 minutes long. It’s 121mb, and only available in WMP9 format.
