Blockin’ out the scenery

April 30th, 2011
Stephen Loftus sent us another 20 signs for his "Signs of Halo" collection - they're spread out amongst almost all groups. This brings the total for the collection to 200 - not too shabby!(Louis Wu 22:42:41 UTC)

Neeew Video! Earlier this week we had the pleasure of working with Jon Graham. Jon as many of you know is the creator of Arby 'n' the Chief. This mashup didn't really start off all that great. We had never seen Jon before and we weren't expecting him for a few days so there was... some confusion. We got it all sorted out later. Luckily, Sal Black, a documentary filmmaker from Austin, was at the office with his crew shooting a little featurette on Rooster Teeth life for a local film fest. He let us borrow the footage so we could share our embarrassment with you.

The Mona Lisa Part 2

April 30th, 2011
The saga continues on Halo Waypoint for The Mona Lisa motion comic. Still building, but getting better and better. Go check it out! Thanks to General Vagueness who also mentioned it on our forums.(GrimBrother One 15:40:31 UTC)

Can a chainsaw cut through Spartan armor?

April 30th, 2011
Hitmonchan107, just before heading out for a weekend of debauchery and pantsless reveling, stopped into our forum with word of an interesting aside in an interview with Epic's Cliffy B. Apparently, the Master Chief COULD have been in Gears 3, but the idea was nixed by Microsoft because Gears is a bit too... bloody. Go read Cliffy's description of what might have been!(Louis Wu 13:23:43 UTC)

A fan says PLAY!

April 30th, 2011
Bones153 wanted to give folks some serious incentive to complete this week's Weekly Challenge - four copies of the Defiant Map Pack (or the equivalent in MSP, if you have it already) for the 4-player team that could score the highest and have the most fun. Read his (well-documented) post for full rationale, and rules - but be aware that it was supposed to happen last night at 10pm, so you're just reading to see what fan love can lead to. (Sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday!) Update: I'm wrong - you've got a week and a half! (Thanks to munky-058 for pointing out the rules addition I missed.) Get your team together, and win a ton of points!(Louis Wu 13:23:10 UTC)

Halo Faith: The Lone Spartan

April 30th, 2011
DeviantART's Mesmeretics released the first official poster for Halo: Faith (the fan movie we've been seeing lots of recently). Suitably grandiose! Thanks again, munky-058. Update: Looks like Grim noticed this yesterday (and I didn't). Oops!(Louis Wu 13:18:50 UTC)

Grenade Launcher Clinic

April 30th, 2011
If you're playing Stockpile, and you have an epic encounter, what better outcome could there be than to turn that into a machinima of sorts? Thanks to GAF's Account Attempt #4 for pointing this out. Made me laugh.(Louis Wu 13:13:08 UTC)

Halo [R]Evolved – Truth and Reconciliation

April 30th, 2011
SonGoharotto stopped by yesterday with another rewrite of his version of Pillar of Autumn, a rewrite of his version of Halo, and a brand-new release - Truth and Reconciliation. The overhaul of the original Halo script (to bring it more inline with newer canon material) continues!(Louis Wu 13:10:50 UTC)

Fails of the Weak Volume 32

April 30th, 2011
Fails of the Weak Volume 32 is now online - this shows that there are still plenty of silly happenings in Halo games, and lots of them result in funny death. Go watch! Thanks, munky-058.(Louis Wu 13:08:09 UTC)

April 30th, 2011

These next two Portal videos put us very close to wrapping up the single player campaign. I think there's probably one more for us to film after these (until more awesome easter eggs are found). First up is our guide to finding the "Singing Turrets" easter egg.

Next up we have a guide to getting the "No Hard Feelings" Achievement, as well as a pretty spoilerish easter egg. Watcher beware!
