April 30th, 2010

While cruising around the Skate 3 demo, we spotted a bigass shark. So we jumped it. Enjoy.

AH: Reach for the sky!

April 30th, 2010

Good evening folks. We here at Achievement Hunter were lucky enough to end up with a few Halo: Reach Beta codes a bit early, so figured we'd pass the fun on to you. Here are walkthroughs of two of the maps you will be experiencing in the Halo: Reach beta when it goes live next Monday.

First up is "Sword Base." Sounds awesome.

And here is "Powerhouse."

AH: Wanna be in Crysis 2?

April 30th, 2010

I received a pretty sweet email this morning from our friends over at EA. Right now they are kicking off a contest where the winners actually get their name/gamertag inserted into the next Crysis game. Pretty sweet!

It looks pretty easy too...here are the details I got in the mail, enjoy!

We are giving 50 people the opportunity to have their name (or gamertag/psn ID) immortalized in Crysis 2 as graffiti.

The contest is open to residents of US, Canada, United Kingdom, and Germany. To enter follow @Crysis on Twitter and tweet one of the following:

The contest ends May 3rd and for more information you can visit our site http://crys.is or Facebook http://crys.is/F

Here are some examples of what your name could look like:

Good luck!

RT: Contest Update

April 30th, 2010
Since starting our Halo: Reach friends and family code giveaways yesterday we've already given away four of the six codes. 7imekeeper is enjoying the beta as we speak thanks to the fact he listens to the drunktank. lilsly619 and thesolidhome are both enjoying the beta because they logged into the site and made a journal about Reach some time in the past 24 hours. We don't yet know who won the code we gave away via our twitter account but we're sure they're having a blast.

Don't be sad though, we're still going to give away 2 more codes today! We are going to give one away via our YouTube channel so be sure you subscribe to it, and we are going to give one away via our Facebook page...so make sure you "like" us and comment on our status update regarding the Reach beta.

Time is wasting, so get to it!

Making games THEY want to make

April 30th, 2010
The Bungie Weekly Update is up WAY earlier than usual - and it's spectacular. Go watch 'New Beginnings' - a look at the BUNGIE vision of making great games - and then go on down and read about ways to STILL get codes, the math behind a game rating, and more. (Best Shishka gif EVER. Well, except for that DirtyDiva one...) It's in our Weekly Update Archive, if you like (mostly) validating code. Did I tell you to watch 'New Beginnings'? Go watch it.(Louis Wu 20:02:40 UTC)

Play It, Baby!

If you've got a copy of Halo 3: ODST, throw it in your DVD drive, and hit the 'Play The Beta' link at the bottom. No, the Beta's not live yet - but you WILL get access to a very cool preview vid hosted by Aisha Tyler. She's funny! (Louis Wu 11:45:25 UTC)

Grifbaaaaaaaaal

April 30th, 2010
Apologies for the lightness of news today (I say this in advance); I'm keeping my head down, doing non-Halo-related work, and won't be around much to update. (Also, I was pretty disheartened by the whole "I didn't get a code" thing I see everywhere; easier to just stay off forums.) I'll clear out the news queue, as it stands now - hopefully, we'll be back in full force this weekend. First up: Bungie pointed out yesterday that the Halo 3 Double XP Weekend Playlist is Grifball - if you don't have a F&F code, go hammer on someone!(Louis Wu 11:44:28 UTC)

Brian and Joe Chat with HBO

April 30th, 2010
Not just on board, but excited.

Brian and Joe talk money. (And nipples.)

April 29th, 2010
The biggest bit of news today was the announcement by Bungie that they'd entered into a partnership with Activision to publish their next game universe. Reaction was predominately negative; Activision has recently gone through some messy dealings with Infinity Ward, and gamers are a little gun-shy. We sat down to talk to Brian Jarrard and Joe Staten of Bungie about the new deal - and they want people to know, there's nothing to worry about. Read the interview - it should soothe your fears. And maybe make you a little nauseous at the same time. Don't click any in-interview links if you're at work. (Louis Wu 22:40:08 UTC)
